  • Specialist resin flooring solutions on display at Craft Brewers Conference 2017.
  • Flowcrete Americas has become a popular flooring partner for the craft beer industry.
  • CBC provides the booming craft beer sector with the opportunity to exchange ideas, tips and technologies.

At this year’s Craft Brewers Conference (CBC), attendees can learn about how they can make sure that the floor underfoot is up to the challenge of maintaining a clean, high-performance finish within a brewery facility by visiting Flowcrete Americas’ booth (4145).

Flowcrete Americas - a supplier member of the Brewer’s Association - has become a popular flooring partner for the growing craft beer industry, with brands including Pale Fire, Brassneck, Alamo, Live Oak and Florida Beer Company amongst others all having installed its high performance flooring solutions.

The conference, which this year is taking place in Washington, D.C., from April 10th-13th, is the only industry event that caters to both brewpubs and packaging breweries. During the event’s four days, over 12,000 brewery industry professionals will have the opportunity to share information and ideas on a wide variety of beer brewing topics.

The craft beer sector is experiencing an incredible period of growth. In 2015 alone, craft brewers produced 24.5 million barrels, saw a 13% rise in volume and hit an estimated $22.3 billion in retail dollar value!

As the sector grows, it is important that it is supported by building materials that meet the necessary functional, aesthetic, hygienic, budgetary and longevity criteria that will allow breweries, both small and new as well as large and well established, to create high quality produce in safe and clean environments.

At CBC, Flowcrete Americas’ expert team will be showcasing the Flowfresh cementitious urethane line, which has been designed to create robust, multi-functional finishes able to survive in back end-brewing areas. The resin flooring manufacturer will also be able to discuss decorative polymer finishes, which are ideal for turning any front-end tasting lounge into a vibrant space that will impress visiting customers.

Alongside this, on booth 4145 attendees can learn about the benefits of choosing flooring materials that come with HACCP International certification. Food Safety Management is an important topic for the modern craft brewing industry, which needs to ensure that its facilities meet the strict hygiene rules of state, national and even international regulations in order to trade both domestically and abroad.

Choosing building materials and other non-food products that have been certified under rigorous HACCP International testing for use or installation in processing areas provides peace of mind for clients looking to ensure safe and sanitary working environments that comply with FDA guidelines.

Every system in the Flowfresh range is HACCP International certified thanks to its multiple hygienic properties, which include being seamless, impervious, easy to clean and safe. Flowfresh floors can maintain these advantages for an extended period of time, even when subjected to brewery conditions, which can include hot temperatures, steam cleaning and corrosive by-products as well as regular impacts from barrels, heavy pallets and dropped equipment.

To achieve a level of cleanliness that goes above and beyond even the HACCP standard, Flowfresh floors also incorporate the antimicrobial additive Polygiene®. Flowfresh has been tested to the ISO 22196 standard, which measures a surface’s antibacterial effectiveness on plastics and other non-porous surfaces.

To discuss specifying a floor for either a new-build brewery project or as part of a refurbishment, head to booth 4145 at this year’s Craft Brewers Conference.
