To provide a safe work environment for its maintenance
personnel, American Airlines conducted a series of flooring
renovations in the hangars located at the Dallas Fort Worth
Airport, one of the airline's operations hubs.
When selecting product for the completion of the project,
chemical and slip resistance properties were crucial to help
prevent and avoid any future incidents related to oil slips in the
hangar. The safety
of the AA maintenance team was a priority for the project.
Looking for products that could deliver a long term solution,
Flowcrete worked directly with American Airlines to develop a
non-slip system that would keep their workers safe. The team
chose Flowcoat
SF41 broadcast and Flowseal PU Gloss, covering an area
of 340,000 sq ft (31,586 m2).
Flowcoat
SF41 properties met the criteria determined by AA: excellent
stain and chemical resistance, anti-slip surface and hard wearing
durable finish that is easy to maintain and built to last.
This will enable better flooring maintenance and improve the safety
conditions of the hangar.
Thanks to the environmental commitment of American
Airlines and Flowcrete, all materials supplied to the project were
in reusable IBC
containers, substantially reducing the amount of waste
generated during the execution of work.
The Flowcrete system is now a flooring global standard for all
American Airlines
facilities.
